When the circus came and stayed in Morvolla town, all
people were excited to see it. In the circus, the clowns showed their excellent
performances. Some clowns were swinging from left to right on the pendulum, and
the others presented a beast-taming with their partners: lions, elephants, and
horses. The audiences were so interested at watching them. When the show had
obtained in the last part, a boy walked to the center of the arena.
He was so ugly, with the glum-faced and a scar lying
accros his left eye. He was short and rather fat. From far, he had a bad
looking so that none of the audiences were delighted to watch him. The bad
impression made him awkward. Even some men and women mocked and laughed at him.
“Hey look, the tiny-shorty guy!” said the man sitting at
the back.
“How miserable his appearance!” mocked the purple-haired
girl.
“Not good! You make me so irritated!” the guy screamed.
“Get out from the stage right now!”
They looked disappointed. The circus manager, who glanced
at the rest stage, was worried. However, the boy still stood in his place.
While closing his eyes, he tried to encourage himself and ignored the taunts
given to him. And then, he put the flame sticks and began juggling.
When he acted, his face changed at all as if it had shone
brightly. He jumped here and there cheerfully as he threw the sticks over the
air. The performance could make the audiences amazed. The persons who mocked
him just now could only be glued in silence. They were astonished seeing the
attraction shown by the boy, even they gave applause to him when he finished
his action.
The boy was happy. He got more applauses from the other
clowns standing behind the stage. Bowing to the audiences, he went back to the
restroom.
“Good job, boy,” said the circus manager. “You can
overcome your nerves and rebuild your self-confidence. I am proud of you!”
